![]() ![]() The show kept its fans engaged with its witty dialogue, Neal and Peter’s bromance, the stunning art and visuals of New York, and a great supporting cast. One of the biggest highlights of the show, other than Matt Bomer’s ‘sharp-suits-and-fedora-donning-Neal-Caffrey, were the heists and treasure hunts that Neal and his friend and confidante Mozzie (Willie Garson) pulled, sometimes for FBI, and sometimes against. Through these six seasons, the show took us all over New York and occasionally some exotic locales like Cape Verde, delved deeper into Neal’s origin story to show us what made him tick, and introduced some excellent characters. White Collar spanned six seasons and 81 episodes before it wrapped up in 2014 with a very satisfying end, typing up almost all the loose ends but leaving a legit window open for Neal and Peter’s partnership to resume. And thus begins a wonderful partnership that isn’t always easy, but is definitely always interesting. However, when caught this time, Neal proposes that he turn consultant for the FBI and help Peter apprehend white collar criminals as part of a work-release programme. But with only a few months left in his sentence, Neal escapes prison to look for his missing girlfriend, sending Peter on his trail again. Neal Caffrey, a sexy, suave and always impeccably dressed con artist, forger and thief is apprehended by FBI Special Agent Peter Burke after a three-year chase. This time though, it wasn’t a romance but the bromance between Matt Bomer’s con artist Neal Caffrey and Tim DeKay’s FBI Special Agent Peter Burke of the white collar crimes division that made me fall swift and hard for this show. The show, too, had at its centre an unconventional partnership that you couldn’t get enough of. ![]() What is it about police procedural shows with partnerships between two interesting characters that just gets you rooting for them? The year was 2009, and I was hooked to the ‘will they, won’t they’ romance between Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic’s characters in Castle, when there came another show that caught my fancy- White Collar. ![]()
